Remember: Homework is completed on the day/night mentioned. It is due the next time that we meet, unless otherwise designated.
Monday/Tuesday (due Wednesday/Thursday):
You will complete the essay started in class. If hand-written, you must use blue or black ink and double space. If typed, it also needs to be double-spaced and limit yourself to fonts like Arial or Times New Roman. If hand-written, it should probably be about two pages. Keep your quotes brief and integrate them into your sentences when possible. Make sure that the following is at the right-top of your page: Your name, class period. You should also write "The Dead" Essay and today's date. It will be due at the beginning of class on Wednesday/Thursday. There will be a chance to revise this essay (for a test grade), but I will have to first give you feedback.
Wednesday/Thursday (due Friday):
Complete chapter six in your vocabulary books. Remember what this means: Next week the review unit will be due, which also means that the following week (Wednesday/Thursday) there will be a vocabulary test.
Friday (due Monday/Tuesday): Take your Literature & Composition books home. Read the background information on Helena Maria Viramontes. Read her short story, "The Moths" (272-277). Answer the questions (in writing) on p. 277. Also, read the interview with the author on pp. 278-280. In writing, answer the follow-up questions on page 280.
